Man Frowning, Type-1-2

All meanings

When you're trying to explain something, using a single word can be confusing, especially if that word has different meanings in different situations. Imagine trying to tell someone you're 'all set' and then realizing they think you're 'all done',it can trip people up, like stepping into muddy water.
In school, teachers often say 'show your work' and students do exactly that, but sometimes it's the wrong kind of work. It's like when you clean your room just to pass a test and forget to actually do the laundry, good effort, but not exactly what was asked for.
On social media, people like to say they're 'all in' when they post something big, like a breakup or a life decision. But if you're just sharing what you had for breakfast, calling it 'all in' can come off as either dramatic or a little lazy, like yelling at the top of a small hill.
At work, when a manager says 'just do it,' it sounds simple, but people usually hear it as 'do it all now and don’t ask why.' It’s like being handed a toolbox and told to fix a broken computer, figuring it out as you go, with little direction and a lot of pressure.
In relationships, saying 'I don’t care' can mean the opposite of what you think. Like when your partner says they’re fine with you not remembering their birthday, but then spends the whole day reminding you, calling the shot without really letting it go.
