This face is the awkward grin of self-conscious laughter like you’re trying to laugh it off but not sure if you should. You’d use it when something goes a little sideways, and you want to show you get it, but also that you’re not too bad at handling it. It’s the face you make when you’re halfway through apologizing, but you’re still trying to be charming about it.
