May be used to represent the moon more generally, nighttime, outer space, and astronomy. May also be used to convey enchanting or eerie feelings. Commonly used during Halloween, associated with werewolves and Friday the 13th.

Full Moon was approved as part of Unicode 6.0 in 2010 under the name “Full Moon Symbol” and added to Emoji 1.0 in 2015.
