This is like facepalming with a side of shame, but the person is also playing the fool. You see this when someone makes a mistake they don’t want to own up to, but they do it in a way that’s too obvious to be clever. It’s the look of, 'I get it, you get it, let’s just pretend I didn’t mess this up.'
